Man sees Mary, Jesus in board

CEDAR CITY, Utah, USA - Edward Childers believes in miracles, and if other people see what he does in a piece of wood, he thinks others will believe in miracles, too.

The Cedar City man was selecting a few boards from his purchase of cull wood at the local Home Depot for his art projects when an image not only caught his eye but was an answer to his prayers, Childers said.

“I was going through my boards and pulled off one of them from my pile right around Christmas, the time the Lord was born, and I’d just got done praying to the Lord to help me with my finances because I was working so hard and trying to produce things people like,” he said. “I turned the board over, because I always look at both sides of the board because the red part is the heart of tree and the white is the sap wood, for patterns and which way to cut it and it just hit me right away. I didn’t need a second look. What I felt was a very powerful, spiritual feeling.”

There in a 2-by-6 redwood board was what Childers describes as the Mother Mary blessing her son, Jesus, with a mother’s blessing, as he is kneeling in prayer to his Father in Heaven, filled with the Holy Spirit and growing in love.

“That’s what I saw and that’s what I felt,” Childers said. “I don’t know if there are any documents or Biblical reference to this event truly happening but that’s what I felt.”  Read Article
