ICPC to Go Spiritual in Tackling Corruption

Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) in Ibadan, Oyo state [Nigeria] on Tuesday declared that it may go spiritual in dealing with corrupt officials in the country , saying there was the need for the agency to go spiritual for the crusade against graft to be effective. This , according to the anti-graft agency, is due to increasing cases of corruption among public and private officers in the country. ICPC chairman,  Justice Emmanuel Ayoola (rtd),  stated this at the opening of the South West Zonal Conference of the 2008 National Conference of anti-corruption units in government establishments. He said the new move was intended at nipping in the bud corrupt tendencies and inclinations in the hearts of officers in both the public and private sectors. According to the ICPC boss, “Come September 7th, we are going to God, the almighty. We are going spiritual about it. We are going to have a national turning point outreach in celebration of what we are doing and appeal to God and the people so that the hearts of Nigerians could be changed.” Read Article
