Berks psychic expert sees boost for ESP, related paranormal phenomena from Clooney film
Dale E. Graff never stared at goats.
But the Tilden Township man did train American troops and civilians to read minds, interpret dreams and use other psychic abilities in an effort to learn Soviet secrets during the Cold War.
That military program he founded and led is now portrayed in the movie, The Men Who Stare at Goats, starring George Clooney.
The film focuses on a team of Americans with psychic abilities who are learning to harness their powers. Among their experiments is trying to kill goats by staring at the animals.
While Graff said the filmmakers took liberties with the facts for the sake of entertainment, the film is bringing attention to an important project that was top secret while it operated.
“Even though presented in a comical fashion, this movie is a door opener that can lead to constructive dialogue and better understanding of the potentials within each of us,” he said.
Graff, 74, a physicist and aerospace engineer, is an expert on extrasensory abilities such as telepathy, remote viewing and psychokinesis. Those phenomena are collectively known as psi.
Many people are skeptical of psi, and that was true of the military and government when Graff worked with them as a civilian from 1976 to 1993, he said. Read Article
